2012 Symphony in the Flint Hills Field Journal, Volume IV
The theme for this year’s Field Journal, like the June 9 concert and event, focuses on The Prairie: Its Seasons and Rhythms. The colorful journal is packed with articles regarding the natural history of the Flint Hills, stories from the site in north Lyon County, arts, poetry, and the musical program with informative notes. We are pleased to include the reprinted article, “Splendor of the Grass,” by Verlyn Klinkenborg with photos by Jim Richardson, that appeared in National Geographic by generous permission of both the author and photographer.
