Kansas City Symphony, Steven Jarvi, Conductor

Returning for the 2012 Seventh Annual Celebration, the Kansas City Symphony, led by Steven Jarvi, will fill the Flint Hills with music that evokes the Seasons and Rhythms of the Prairie.  The concert includes works by Mendelssohn, Schumann, Grieg and Stravinsky. Soprano Aundi Marie Moore will join the Symphony in George Gershwin’s “Summertime”, Carlisle Floyd’s “Ain’t It a Pretty Night” and Aaron Copland’s “Laurie’s Song” from his opera The Tender Land. The program will run approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, which includes 90 minutes of music and a 20 minute intermission.
